What we help with

Care for the everyday

Every plan is built around the person, not a checklist. These are the kinds of help our caregivers provide.

In a bright kitchen, a caregiver washes up at the sink while an older woman in a wheelchair looks on.
  • Personal care

Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and routine hair and skin care, done with patience and respect for privacy.

  • Moving safely

Steady support getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking around the home, positioning, and gentle exercise.

  • Meals

Planning and preparing meals, help with eating when it is needed, and keeping an eye on regular hydration.

  • Medication reminders

Reminders to take the medicines you manage yourself, at the right time, every day.

  • Around the house

Light housekeeping, laundry and tidying that keep daily life running, alongside personal care.

  • Company and errands

Conversation, companionship, and going along to appointments, the pharmacy, or the grocery store.

  • Overnight and live-in care

A caregiver through the night, or living in, for safety, help getting to the bathroom, and peace of mind.

  • Support with memory loss

Calm, consistent routines and supervision for people living with Alzheimer’s or other dementia.

  • Respite for family

A few hours or a few days of cover, so the family member who usually gives care can rest.

  • Accord provides non-medical care. We do not provide nursing, therapy, or other medical services. If those are needed, we are glad to work alongside the licensed provider your doctor refers you to. How home care differs from home health.

Getting started

How it works

  1. Call or send a message

Tell us who needs care and what a normal day looks like. There is no charge and no obligation.

  2. We visit the home

We meet you and your family, talk through routines and preferences, and look at what would make the home safer.

  3. You get a written plan and agreement

Before care starts you receive, in writing, the services we will provide, what they cost, your rights as a client, and how to raise a concern.

  4. Care begins

We schedule a caregiver who fits your needs and check in regularly so the plan keeps up with you.

Private pay, clearly priced

You pay Accord directly, at a rate we put in writing before care begins. There are no insurance forms standing between you and getting help. If you have long-term care insurance, we will provide the invoices and care records your insurer asks for.

At Accord, we strongly believe that home is sacred ground. It is where dignity endures, independence is honored, and life continues on one’s own terms. This conviction guides everything we do.

Quality care, to us, is not a transaction. It is a covenant, one we honor with humility, in every home, for every family, every day.

Questions

Common questions

Is this medical care?

No. Accord provides non-medical personal assistance: help with the everyday activities of living. We do not provide nursing, therapy, or other medical services. If you need those, your doctor can refer you to a licensed home health agency, and we can work alongside them.

Does Medicare pay for this?

Medicare does not pay for personal care when it is the only care someone needs. Accord is private pay: you pay us directly. Some long-term care insurance policies reimburse personal care, so check your policy; we are happy to provide the invoices and care records an insurer asks for.

Is Accord licensed?

Yes. Accord Personal Care is licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission as a Home and Community Support Services Agency, in the Personal Assistance Services category, license number 025240.

How many hours of care can I get?

Care is arranged around what you need, from a few hours a week to daily visits. We will talk through the schedule during the home visit.

What does it cost?

It depends on the hours and the kind of help needed. We give you the rate in writing, in your service agreement, before any care begins.

What if we have a concern about care?

Call us first, and we will make it right. You can also contact the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Complaint and Incident Intake line at 1-800-458-9858. Raising a concern will never affect your care.
